Blue 1 and Blue 2 by Martha Wilson

photos (c) Martha Wilson
These photos were submitted by a friend of mine from Southern California, Martha Wilson. She is one of the many people I met when I worked at KPCC-FM (back when they still played music and used volunteers for their membership drives ...)

Thanks, Martha for sharing your photos with me -- it seems like old times!

A Little Patch of Blue by Lisa Haney

This is another submission by Lisa Haney. I wonder if she took this photograph here in Central Oregon ...? As a photographer, one of the things I love most about this part of Oregon is our ever-changing skies. We get some of the most intense, wonderfully colorful (or deeply foreboding) looking skies!

"Blue" submissions by Kymberli Colbourne

These photos were sent to me by my friend Kymberli Colbourne. Kymberli is a professional voice over artist by day (www.kcvoice.com), and in her free time she acts, directs and does set design for the local theaters here in Central Oregon.

I especially love the photo of the hammack in the trees -- it makes me wish I were there right now!

Blue Submissions by Tina M. Harris

Poetic License: stretching the boundaries of interpretation.
-- Brad Hills, our living room, 2008.

Am I Blue? (c) 2008 by Tina M. Harris

Welcome to my new site -- the Poetic License Photo Blog! I started this project as a way to get my creativity flowing again -- by using photographs and the written word to "stretch the boundaries of interpretation." I have scribled various words on slips of papers and placed them in a glass bowl. Every couple of weeks or so I will draw a new word and I will attempt to create new photos based on the given word. It is my hope that I will convince others to join me in creating new works that take "poetic license" with the selected words (and that you will get your friends to join in as well!)

The first word I drew was "blue." The photo above is one interpretation of the word. Here's another --

If you are interested in participating, please send your photographic interpretation of the current word, "blue" by Friday, August 1st, 2008.
