Thank you to everyone who submitted photos for the "Double" theme. I have selected our new word, and as you can see it is "sign." It seems to me this word has tons of possible interpretations (as in "a sign of the times," or "sign here," or "the sign said turn left" ...) What other interpretations do you have for the word sign -- and how can you visually represent your definition?
Angel's Flight (c) 2007 by Tina M. Harris
I took this photograph on the way home from a trip to Eugene. I loved the juxtaposition of the "Angel's Flight" sign with "Dead End" notice. Just what exactly happens on this road -- and do you really want to venture there? Personally, I took it as an indication that perhaps I should remain on the path I was on ... but what sort of omen was the bright blast of sunlight through the trees which lit up the corner of the signs just as I was taking the photograph??
You have until Sunday, February 22nd at 5 p.m. to send me 2 or 3 of your best photographs about "signs." Send your photos to me at poeticlicensephotoblog@hotmail.com. PLEASE REMEMBER that you need to include the title(s) of your work(s) and the year that you took the photo(s). A brief description explaining your how your photo relates to our current word would be helpful as well, but is not required if the connection is obvious.
If you have friends who might enjoy this blog (whether it is as an active participant or someone who just likes photography), please help me grow this blog by sending them a link to this website -- or better still, send me their email address and I will follow up with them! (I promise I will not spam them!)
I look forward to your submissions. Have fun!
Tina
